“This time it's war.”

Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the only survivor of an alien attack, has spent fifty-seven years in cryo-sleep. When a colony on the moon goes silent, she agrees to return with a unit of Colonial Marines to find out what happened. Cameron cuts between Ripley's dread and the marines' cocky efficiency as they descend into darkness where the aliens are waiting, and what unfolds argues that survival sometimes demands you become harder than the thing trying to kill you.
