Ripley wakes on a remote prison planet with no memory of how she got there, only to learn that an alien creature has followed her. The inmates and guards must hunt it in the prison's flooded tunnels and dark machinery. Fincher traps the camera in narrow corridors until Ripley stands alone in the foundry's white heat, the creature's shadow stretching across the molten floor.
