Alice (Kathryn Beaumont) tumbles down a rabbit hole into a strange country where a grinning cat (Sterling Holloway) grins wider and a mad hatter (Ed Wynn) throws senseless tea parties. She chases the White Rabbit through gardens and palaces, each encounter more bewildering than the last. By the end, she wakes beside her sister on the riverbank, uncertain which world was the dream.
