A Nightmare on Elm Street

“If Nancy doesn't wake up screaming, she won't wake up at all.”

Teenagers in a small town begin dying in their sleep, each one clawed and broken in ways that match their nightmares. Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) realizes the deaths are connected to Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), a burnt man who hunts them in dreams where he cannot be outrun or hidden from. Wes Craven traps the teens in a logic where sleep itself becomes lethal, and staying awake means losing grip on what is real.
