A Monster Calls

“Stories are wild creatures.”

Conor (Lewis MacDougall) is a boy whose mother (Felicity Jones) is dying, and he's angry at everyone, including her. At night a creature made of wood and leaves, with the voice of Liam Neeson, steps through his bedroom wall and begins to tell him stories. Bayona shoots the monster in soft greens and golds, rooted and patient, while Conor's small hands clench in the dark.
